John has successfully tried numerous cases, both in state and federal courts. John's success in federal court, both in his capacity as United States Attorney and as defense counsel, includes an acquittal for a client charged with perjury, and a hung jury in a case where his client was charged with price fixing, which led to all charges being dropped. John has also had great results defending individuals charged in state court, and his successes include the recent acquittal of a physician in a jury trial. In both federal and state courts, John has achieved successful resolutions for his clients.
John has also worked on cases with multiple plaintiffs, and in one such case involving college accreditation, he successfully led the legal team to a 2.4 million dollar settlement. Additionally, he has, on several occasions, represented families, whose child was injured or died as a result of college hazing. His success in representing individuals, who have been injured by the negligence of another, includes a January 2023, 1.2 million settlement that he obtained for clients, injured in a motor vehicle accident.
John has been selected for inclusion in the publications, Best Lawyers in America; Superlawyers; and Virginia Business Legal Elite. He has served, and continues to serve, in a leadership role in a number of legal organizations and is honored to have served, and still serve, on a number of community boards.
