3 common head injuries after a car crash

On Behalf of | Sep 16, 2022 | Car Accidents, Personal Injury

People often assume that, in a car crash, their airbag will protect them from most of the damage. Your face, however, may take the full force of your airbag and anything in between, which may cause injuries.

Here are a few common injuries your face might suffer after a crash:

1. Auditory and vision issues

When your airbag deploys, it could send you flying back into your seat. While your airbag may prevent you from flying out of your window, it could cause whiplash. Whiplash can cause you to suffer head injuries and, in some cases, may affect your senses such as hearing and vision.

2. Upper and lower jaw injuries

In a car accident, your mouth could be injured, resulting in dental trauma to your upper and lower jaw. A broken jaw can cause many life-long problems when speaking and eating. While many people can get surgery and treatment, and sometimes full reconstruction, for their jaw, they may face heavy medical bills.

3. Broken noses

Before anything else on your head, your nose will be the first thing to feel the impact of your airbag. A broken nose could require realignment and reconstruction, but even then, you may have breathing problems.

If you’re in a car accident and suffering injuries that will cost you thousands of medical bills, you may need to reach out for legal help when looking to recover from your losses and medical debt.
