Martin, and firm investigator Isaac Van Patten discuss alternative dispute resolution, namely mediation. While many of our cases go to trial, once a case has progressed significantly enough, the parties will often try to pursue a settlement through mediation. Mediation allows both parties to present their best positions to each other via neutral mediator, often a retired judge in state court cases or United States Magistrate Judge in federal court cases, who will then help to facilitate a settlement between the parties.
